Section of Bole-Wa Highway Washed Away By Heavy Downpour
A section of the Bole to Wa highway in the Savannah region has been washed away as a result of a heavy downpour in the early hours of Sunday, 17th September, 2023.
The incident happened at the Wa-Sawla section of the highway after a heavy downpour which covered almost the entire Upper West and Savannah regions.
The road is the only link between the south of the country and the Upper West region.
A bridge linking Bole and Doli communities was completely washed off, making it impossible for vehicles and people to cross.
In a communique by the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, Hon. Yussif Sulemana, he is seriously in touch with stakeholders to find a solution for the time being.
He assured the constituents that he will continue to engage the appropriate ministries and agencies to get a permanent solution, but for the time being everyone should take care of themselves.
