People in al-Shifa Hospital planning to bury bodies in compound
People inside al-Shifa Hospital are planning to start burying dead bodies within its compound, two sources from the hospital told the Reuters news agency.
Doctor Ahmed Al Mokhallalati and Gaza health ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qidra said in separate telephone interviews that more than 100 dead bodies had accumulated there and were starting to decompose.
While digging the graves without cover from the International Red Cross is dangerous, the sources told Reuters that they have no other options.
Due to a lack of power and increased Israeli attacks, Al-Qidra said on Monday that 32 patients had died in the last three days, including three newborn babies.
