Argentine president Javier Milei has condemned the actions of climate protestors who vandalised Lionel Messi’s luxury mansion.

Messi’s villa in Ibiza was vandalised by a group of climate protestors earlier this week, representing the group ‘Futuro Vegetal’, as they demanded that people “help the planet”, “eat the rich”, and “abolish the police”.

The climate group claimed that they set foot inside Messi’s villa to bring attention to the environmental crisis facing the planet, insisting that “we need a radical change of system”. However, Argentina’s president has come out swinging against their claims, insisting that they are motivated mainly by communism, and has called on Spain’s government to ensure the safety of the country’s Argentine population.

Milei wrote on X: “In Spain, communists who want to ‘kill the rich and abolish the police to end climate change’ vandalized a house belonging to Lionel Messi and his family. I stand in solidarity with the Messi family for this cowardly and delusional event and I ask the government of Pedro Sanchez to guarantee the safety of Argentine citizens living in the Kingdom of Spain. Communism is an ideology fostered by envy, hatred and resentment towards the successful. It has no place in the free and civilized world. LONG LIVE FREEDOM DAMN IT.”
