EC To receive nominations for Presidential and Parliamentary elections from 9th Sept. to 13th

The Electoral Commission, pursuant to the Regulations 6, 7 and 8 of the Public Elections Regulations, 2020 (C.I. 127) is set to open the Presidential and parliamentary nominations slot from Monday, September 9 through to September 13, 2024.

In a press statement released on Thursday, August 1, 2024, the Electoral Commission admonishes interested candidates vying for the Presidential position are required to pay an amount of One Hundred Thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 100,000) at the time of submitting the nominations.
Female candidates and persons with disabilities are required to pay Seventy-Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc 75,000).

Persons wishing to pick up forms for the slot of a Member of Parliament are required to pay Ten Thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 10,000) on the same day of submitting their nomination forms.
Female candidates and persons with disabilities are required to pay Seven Thousand Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (Ghc 7,500).

Completed Presidential nominations forms shall be delivered at the Head Office of the Commission between the hours of 9:00am to 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm each day.

The letter signed by Samuel Tetteh, Deputy Chairman, Operations stated that, “All enquiries relating to the Presidential Election should be addressed to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and the Parliamentary Elections to the Returning officers of the constituencies where the candidates seek election.”
