According to The Sun, the properties in Birmingham will sell for up to £450,00 while the two in the capital will fetch £667,000 each.

This brings the value of Southgate’s property holdings up to £6.4 million.

Southgate, 53, now has a range of properties across Britain, including eight flats in Birmingham, four properties in London, and four in Manchester, making a total of 16.

A source told The Sun: ‘Gareth is tactically astute on and off the pitch, and has stepped up his work on the properties side of things.

‘He is hoping he has made good signings – and knowing him, he will have done and they will add a lot of value to the business.

‘Gareth is going to have more time now to focus on business and make sure it is all a success.’

MAS is a family run business, which Southgate shares with his wife Alison who has a ten per cent stake.

Their two children each have a 20 per cent stake.

He and Alison were married in 1997, after the pair met while he was at Crystal Palace and she was working in a clothes shop.

In 2003, Southgate spoke about working up the courage to ask Alison out and recalled their early dates sneaking out together round the back of a Tesco car park.

Together they also own another firm which manages the rights to his use of his image.

Set up in 2017, FHS Promotions Limited, means Southgate earns money when firms use his image for products.

However, because the the rights belong to a company set up by Southgate, any money is subject to business tax rates which are lower than income tax levels.

While he is also on the board of a different property company called Arundel Property Fund Management Limited, which also includes former England cricketer Alec Stewart.

In another smart business move, the former England manager struck a deal with Inside Track Productions which is part of the film industry.

In 2020, Southgate’s networth was estimated to be £9 million.

However, with recent additions to his property profile at MAS and his other deals with different property firms this is likely to have risen.
