Lawyer Akoto Ampaw Passes On
A partner at President Akufo-Addo’s law firm, Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co., Lawyer Anthony Akoto Ampaw Esq has been confirmed dead.
According to confirmed reports, the veteran Ghanaian lawyer and human rights, activist died today, October 20, 2023, at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC).
The veteran human rights activist, family sources said, has not been well since the beginning of 2023 but the cause of death has not been disclosed yet.
Akoto Ampaw was the head of the legal team, who defended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s win in the 2020 Presidential elections at the Supreme Court.
Mr. Ampaw was part of the New Patriotic Party’s legal team in the Electoral Petition of 2012.
He was also one of the lawyers who were against the anti LGBTQ+bill.
